agnès b.’s LIBRAIRIE GALERIE is delighted to present Monoprints & Drawings by French artist Yann Kebbi. Kebbi will bring us his monoprints, drawings and sketchbooks. This exhibition presents two parts of his works. One is based on his observation from daily life, the way he expresses urban landscapes. The other is on interpretation from memory of compositions and colors, favoring dynamic brushstrokes. They reveal Kebbi’s movement of characters and emotions experienced.

About the Artist

Yann Kebbi is a French illustrator based in Paris. He works in many different media, including engravings, monotypes and paintings. His drawings are colorful and vivid, allowing viewers to have their own imagination and perspective. He collaborates regularly with the press, including The New Yorker, The New York Times, Liberation and The Tiger.

Artist Statement

My intentions are mainly graphical. The process, the doing, is what matters to me. It is the moment where I feel alive. So the base of my work is to observe and to draw, use different tools, on different scales, and see where it goes. It allows me to practice and evolve and to create a visual repertoire, to express a certain view of my world, with movement, life. Beyond the subject, figurative or not, I believe the way you draw, your stroke, can express something in itself.
