Description

Description

Gagosian is one of the world’s leading galleries of modern and contemporary art, with eighteen exhibition spaces in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Paris, Geneva, Basel, Rome, Athens, and Hong Kong. Founded by Larry Gagosian in 1980, the gallery represents many of the world’s most important living artists, including Andreas Gursky, Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince, and Zeng Fanzhi. The gallery also represents the estates of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alberto Giacometti, Roy Lichtenstein, Claude Monet, Nam June Paik, Pablo Picasso, Robert Rauschenberg and Andy Warhol, among others. In Hong Kong, Gagosian opened its eleventh global location, and first in Asia, in January 2011, at the iconic Pedder Building in the city’s Central district. The 5,200 square foot space was inaugurated with an exhibition of new works by Damien Hirst, titled “Forgotten Promises”. Since then, Gagosian Hong Kong has presented major solo exhibitions with Jean-Michel Basquiat, John Currin, Andreas Gursky, Tetsuya Ishida, Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince, Zeng Fanzhi, as well as Roy Lichtenstein and Cy Twombly.
