Gallery Intern | Alisan Fine Arts

Co-founded in the 1980s by Alice King, Alisan Fine Arts is one of the first professionally run galleries in Hong Kong and has been a pioneer in the field of Chinese contemporary art and new ink art. In particular, focusing on promoting mainland Chinese artists as well as established Hong Kong and Chinese diaspora artists.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Gallery Interns, contributing to various aspects of gallery operations, exhibition and fair management, and the preparation of our new space.

Responsibilities 

  • Assisting with daily gallery operations and general administration.
  • Providing support during gallery events and receptions.
  • Assisting with exhibition preparations and material management.
  • Assisting with content creation for newsletters and social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, WeChat).
  • Contributing to the setup of our upcoming new space.
  • Conducting stock taking and updating the database.

Requirements

  • University students or recent graduates, preferably with a background in an art-related field.
  • Genuine interest in Chinese contemporary art.
  • Strong writing and communication skills in both Chinese and English.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is an advantage.
  • Available from June to August.
  • Able to commit to 3-5 working days per week.

Intern (Part-time) - Hong Kong Art Gallery Association

Summary 

Hong Kong Art Gallery Association is currently seeking an intern to assist in the general planning, coordination and execution of HKAGA’s programme in 2024. 

  • Working Hours: 10 am - 7 pm, 2-3 days per week (Mon–Sat)
  • Commitment: 3 months 
  • The internship stipend will be provided 

Responsibilities 

Assist in the design, general planning, coordination and execution of HKAGA programme, including but not limited to: 

  • Promotion of Hong Kong galleries exhibition on HKAGA website and social media platforms
  • Liaise with galleries, arts and cultural organisations, government bodies, art fairs, educational institutions and corporations 
  • Design and prepare promotional and marketing materials
  • Source suppliers & vendors 
  • Translation work 
  • Support event logistics, such as art talks, gallery tours and workshops 

Requirements 

  • University graduate or student, preferably in the Art & Culture field 
  • Proven interest in visual art 
  • Mature, presentable, with good communication & interpersonal skills
  • Possessing creativity, initiative & self-motivation 
  • Able to work independently & efficiently 
  • Able to multi-task, with good organisational skills 
  • Attention to detail and sense of responsibility 
  • Strong command of spoken & written English & Chinese 
  • Experience and skills in social media are preferred

MOU PROJECTS is a Hong Kong-based contemporary art gallery established in 2019. Since its inception, the gallery has been dedicated to showcasing both local and international emerging artists working in all media and has held many of their first solo exhibitions in Hong Kong as well as in Asia.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated intern to join the team to gain insight into gallery operations, exhibition planning, and fair participation.

Responsibilities:
• Assist with day-to-day operations of the gallery and general office administration;
• Design exhibition posters;
• Update artist archives, database, and website;
• Support content creation for social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, WeChat);
• Provide Chinese and English writing and translation;
• Information archiving and compiling;
• Conduct artist research.

Requirements:

Gallery Intern - Ben Brown Fine Arts

Ben Brown Fine Arts is looking for a reliable individual who has a strong interest in developing a career in the fine art industry. Candidates will gain an in-depth knowledge of art fairs, gallery operations, and be exposed to a wide selection of artworks.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in organizing upcoming exhibitions, coordinate with art fairs, gallery exhibitions

- Conduct artist research, and other administrative assistance

- Assist in preparation of exhibition materials and marketing collateral

- Responsible for library stock keeping and organizing

- Provide post-sale support to gallery staff and daily operations maintenance to the gallery

Requirements:

- Candidate with work experience in related field (art history, design, art handling, museum studies) is preferred

- Ability to complete given tasks in a timely manner

- Attention to detail with demonstration of solid research skills

- Excellent command of oral and written English and Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin)

- Knowledge in Photoshop/AI is an advantage

- Responsible, organized, self-motivated and good problem-solving skills

Gallery Intern (Full-time/Part-time) - Tang Contemporary Art

Tang Contemporary Art Wong Chuk Hang space is looking for a part-time or full-time intern for the internship period of April to June 2024, subject to availability.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in day-to-day operations - including sourcing materials and supporting all departments and team members in Hong Kong;
- Contribute to exhibition production, with the flexibility to work longer hours on required installation or event days;
- Prepare and review presentation materials required for the gallery and foundation exhibition in detail;
- Be responsible for some reception work;
- Translate work may be applicable.

Requirements:
- Language: Must be fluent in English & Mandarin (speaking, reading, and writing); Cantonese is a plus;
- Ability to work independently and resourcefully, with efficiency and organization;

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist and manage daily operations of the gallery
  • Responsible for administrative tasks which include but are not limited to handling walk-in clients/visitors, taking care of VIPs, email and phone enquiries, update database and gallery contacts, shipment orders, and inventory management
  • Preparing upcoming exhibitions, writing, editing and translating relevant materials

REQUIREMENTS

 Responsibilities:

  • As part of the team, the candidate shall be responsible for:
