Join us for a conversation with Halley Cheng, in which the artist will discuss his latest show “Twist/Turn” and share perspectives on his art creation. The title of the show partly originates from Chan Koonchung’s reference to China as a Rubik’s Cube, a complex machine which may show visible change at the surface, whilst its underlying structure remains the same, immutable and fixed.

In subtle response to oppositional, fragmented positions, Cheng investigates a city where the players may be caught in self-delusion. In the talk, “Paradoxes in Art Creation”, guest speaker and independent curator Jeff Leung Chin Fung will join the artist as they discuss Cheng’s view of the contradictions and juxtapositions in art, life and the world in general.

We hope to see you as we explore this ever twisting, ever turning theatrical stage. A place where truth can be hard to find.
