Introduction:

The Hong Kong Art Gallery Association is pleased to invite you to a series of gallery days in anticipation of the opening of fairs and cultural events in the city on 19, 20 and 21 May 2022.

On 19 May, galleries from Sheung Wan to Sai Ying Pun will be presenting an exciting line-up of programmes from 4pm to 8pm. With a tailored schedule of gallery exhibitions and special events, such as artist talks, performances, and docent tours, audiences can enjoy gallery hopping to discover and revitalise the diverse contemporary art scene of Hollywood Road towards the Western neighbourhood.

The Central Gallery Day will present a collective front of art galleries at Hong Kong’s long-standing art hub on 20 May. From morning to evening, gallery goers will be treated to a rich array of exhibition openings, artist talks and special events in galleries which champion international and local talents.

Launched as an effort to put together a roster of happenings in Wong Chuk Hang, Tin Wan and Repulse Bay galleries on the first Saturday every month, the May edition of #SouthsideSaturday is specially moved to 21 May to coincide with the arts happenings prior to the art fairs. Visitors can look forward to happenings ranging from interactive events over a designated time to more passive events that allow visitors to experience something at their own pace, including talks, screenings, special displays, sketch sessions and more.

Stay tuned to HKAGA’s website (https://www.hk-aga.org/) and social media channels (Instagram/Facebook) for more details about the gallery programmes!
