JEF VERHEYEN

Axel Vervoordt Gallery presents the first solo exhibition of Jef Verheyen (1932-1984, Belgium) in Hong Kong and Asia. Verheyen is one of the most important Flemish artists of the twentieth century and an important member of the avant-garde ZERO movement. His painting explores the theme of light through colors and makes us experience light and dark, depth and surface, two dimensionality and non-dimensionality. Combined with extremely smooth and matt surface his work moves us to a state of trance.
