You may wonder how a photographic image is transformed along the way into a woodcut print.The ๐๐ช๐ก๐ฉ๐-๐พ๐ค๐ก๐ค๐ช๐ง ๐๐๐๐ช๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐ฉ: ๐๐ค๐ค๐๐๐ช๐ฉ & ๐๐๐ค๐ฉ๐ค๐๐ง๐๐ฅ๐๐ฎ workshop, led by Jay Lau, brings together photography and woodblock printing through the reduction printing technique. Participants will carve their own woodblocks by hand, transforming the light and shadow of photographs into the dots, lines and planes of woodcut prints.During the workshop, the instructor will introduce the distinctive carving techniques and textures of woodcut, while guiding participants through key processes such as digital image editing and image transfer.
