Gallery Assistant
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Gallery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for contemporary art, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively across exhibition, sales, and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the planning and execution of exhibitions, events, and art fairs (local and international), including installation and de-installation.
• Support day-to-day gallery operations such as documentation, logistics coordination, visitor reception, and handling of phone and email inquiries.
• Assist in art sales, client development, and implementation of sales strategies to meet business objectives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local and international clients, achieving sales targets through exhibitions, fairs, and art events.
• Manage gallery branding initiatives, update the official website, and coordinate press and media communications including drafting press releases.
• Support the planning, development, and operations of social media and digital marketing platforms.
• Contribute to the creation of promotional materials including written content, graphic design, and video production.
• Provide administrative and ad-hoc support as required.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Art, Cultural and Arts Management, or a related discipline.
• 1–2 years of experience in a gallery, auction house, or art advisory firm.
• Solid understanding of both local and international art markets.
• Knowledge of art history and modern & contemporary art; familiarity with art market sales processes.
• Experience in art marketing and sales, with proven ability to grow client networks and sales channels.
• Basic proficiency in graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite) and digital media tools.
• Proactive, creative, and responsible with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and public relations skills.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
