3812 Gallery is a leading contemporary Asian art gallery with spaces in London and Hong Kong. Committed to fostering cultural dialogue, the gallery represents a dynamic roster of established and emerging artists. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic intern to support our Hong Kong team, with a primary focus on exhibition coordination.

 

Position Overview

This internship, on-site role will provide essential support to the exhibition coordination process – from planning and installation to deinstallation and post-exhibition tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.

 

Key Responsibilities

Exhibition Coordination 

- Support and Assist the gallery team in planning and organising exhibition schedules, floor plans, and artwork lists.

- Coordinate with artists, shippers, framers, and installers to ensure smooth exhibition delivery.

- Help prepare exhibition materials including labels, didactic panels, and press kits.·       Support the team during installation and deinstallation, ensuring artworks are placed correctly and safely.

- Assist with condition reporting and documentation of artworks before, during, and after exhibitions.

- Maintain exhibition archives, including checklists, photography, and loan records.

 

General Gallery Operations

- Support daily gallery operations: front desk coverage, visitor reception, and inquiries.

- Assist in client communications and sales follow-up as needed.

- Help maintain gallery cleanliness, organisation, and supply inventory.

- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and database updates using Artlogic.

 

Art Handling 
- Safely pack, unpack, and transport artworks under supervision.

- Assist with hanging, lighting adjustments, and display setup during exhibitions.

- Delivery artwork for exhibitions, projects and sales

 

Candidate Profile

Currently studying or holding a degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Museum Studies, Gallery Studies, or a related field.

- Previous experience in a gallery, museum, or exhibition coordination role is a plus.·       Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.

- Ability to multitask and work calmly under deadline pressure.

- A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.

- Physically able to lift and move artworks (with training and support)

- Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (written and spoken).

- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of Artlogic is a plus.
