Gallery Intern – Research & Register (March - September 2026)

Location: 3812 Gallery, Hong Kong (Central)
Type: On-site; part-time, 2-4 days per week or full-time
Duration: 6 month internship (paid)
About 3812 Gallery:
3812 Gallery is a leading contemporary Asian art gallery with spaces in Hong Kong and London. Committed to fostering cultural dialogue, the gallery represents a dynamic roster of established and emerging artists.
Position Overview:
This internship, on-site role will provide research support to the gallery’s programs, including creation and revision of artist and artwork records, artists’ cataloguing and profiling, as well as support to Hsiao Chin Archives in digitisation, and description of HCA research themes and other archiving projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in gallery artists’ profiling, include but not limited to artist bio, profile deck, collection list, project pitching, etc.
- Sub-edit and proofread for gallery’s online presentation
- Research inventories information from existing materials and online
- Fact check artwork provenance sheets
- Perform collection management and related administrative tasks including maintaining management systems
- Upload inventories to online systems following the schedule set by the project supervisor
- Dig deep into the existing materials for research articles on the designated topic
- Assist in preparing academic programming, including research planning and event hosting
Candidate Profile:
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- Interest in heritage preservation
- Knowledge in digital archives is an asset
- Excellent command of written and spoken Chinese and English
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and word processing
- Proficient in ArtLogic and/or Inventozen is a plus
- Currently studying or holding a degree in Archives Management, Art History, Museum Studies, and/or related disciplines
- Previous experience in art galleries or museums is a plus
- A team player with strong attention to detail and a proactive, can-do attitude
