Gallery Manager (Full-Time) – Art Supermarket


Art Supermarket (founded in 2011) is an unconventional art gallery with the ambition to bring excellent and original art into our daily lives. The gallery showcases a wide range of art works by emerging Asian and Western contemporary artists, and is known to be a forward-looking contributor to the Hong Kong arts scene.

Position: Gallery Manager (Full-Time)

Duties of Gallery Manager at Art Supermarket:

- ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the gallery
- planning, organizing, presenting and marketing exhibitions and shows, including responsibility for public relations, scheduling and managing exhibitions
- arranging transportation of work to and from the gallery, both nationally and internationally
- organizing equipment hire and ensuring correct installation of the artwork
- responsible for gallery website updates, Facebook, Instagram, Artsy, mailings and in-gallery information about the exhibitions
- examination of works, documenting and issuing certificates on works in the collection of Art Supermarket gallery
- preparations of exhibition catalogs
- keeping up to date with Asian and international contemporary art, industry developments and market trends
- promoting artists' works
- preparation and participating in international art exhibitions
- follow up on sales and administration, contact with clients, prospects, press, etc.
- maintaining and expanding client lists and portfolios
- acquiring new corporate clients


- administration and marketing education/background and art experience in the art industry
- languages: excellent written and conversational English. In addition: Cantonese and Mandarin are an advantage
- strong artwork sales experience and highly skilled communicator
- personal network with collectors, institutions and curators in Hong Kong and overseas
- strong interest and knowledge in art, the Hong Kong and the international art scene
- flexible and dynamic personality
- discrete and professional attitude
- 3+ years’ experience in art industry/gallery is a plus
- well organized, self-motivated and able to handle multiple projects and exhibitions under tight deadlines
- proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Mac OS (including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Excel etc) and experienced in maintaining social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, WeChat etc.)
- graphic design experience is an advantage
- holding a valid permit to work in Hong Kong is an advantage
- immediate availability is preferred

Gallery Assistant (part-time) / Intern - Blindspot Gallery


Set up in 2010, Blindspot Gallery is a Hong Kong-based contemporary art gallery, that has a strong focus on contemporary photography and image-based works amongst other media in contemporary art. We are looking for a part-time Gallery Assistant / Intern to work closely with our team.

- Data entry and other administrative works including inventory management
- Update website and online platforms
- Assist in graphic design and layout of marketing materials such as printed and electronic catalogue
- Assist in preparation and installation of exhibitions
- Assist in preparation and organisation of gallery events such as opening reception and artist talk

- Tertiary education level
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese
- Creative software skill is a must, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
- Photography skill is desired but not essential

Intern, Graphic Design & Social Media - Lucie Chang Fine Arts



Lucie Chang Fine Arts seeks, for this fall season, a Graphic Design and Social Media Intern with interest in and, ideally, working knowledge of contemporary art and culture.

This is a part-time unpaid position in our Sheung Wan location, and needs to be filled, starting from November 15th, 2017 to February 28th, 2018. Ideal candidates should commit to a minimum of a two-day working schedule per week and school credits are welcome.

Responsibilities- Social Media
1. Promote LCFA’s exhibitions, educational and outreach programs, and special events via Social Media (Instagram, Wechat platform, and Facebook). Photograph behind-the-scene gallery moments in order to better LCFA’s online presence.
2. Monitor, promote and circulate all media clips of ongoing exhibitions.
3. Help prepare gallery’s regular e-newsletters (draft copy and update recipient database).

Responsibilities- Graphic Design
1. Assist on design conception and be responsible for design execution of exhibition posters, banners, e-invite cards, catalogs, etc.
2. Assist in administrative aspects of design production
3. Coordinate relationships with vendors, preparing specifications and obtaining estimates

Responsibilities- Admin
1. Update and maintain artwork inventory with images, location, artwork location etc.
2. Direct external parties’ communications to the appropriate gallery’s personnel
3. Provide administrative support to gallery manager and director

- With strong Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and html skills
- With outstanding communication skills
- Detail-orientated and proactive
- With working knowledge in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua

Gallery Manager - Galerie Huit

Full time, permanent

Working Hours: 10.30 am - 7.30 pm, 5 days per week (1 day on weekend); candidate is expected to report to duty should there be gallery events that are outside the working hours

- Assist Gallery Directors in the production and promotion of gallery exhibitions
- Maintain gallery space and manage the daily operations and staff members
- Managing communications with artists and curators
