We are recruiting a detail minded and attentive individual for the position of Art Handler / Warehouse Assistant. Your daily duties include load and un-load trucks, packing / un-packing of artwork, provide excellent service to our clients in our Private Viewing Room at our art storage facility. You will also be required to work effectively to securely receive, release, and process high value items from our facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Handling Fine Art
  • Manage overall artwork inventory/stock and logistic for the gallery, exhibition, events and sales.
  • Basic duties include but are not limited to: Packing, installation, de-installation, condition reports, wall repair, and lighting.
  • Ensure packing, handling and installation standards and protocols are met, as set by Artist or Lender.
  • Up/Unloading trucks and crates from trucks, and daily moving of crates, artworks and other items in a safe and professional manner.

Contemporary by Angela Li is looking for passionate and well-organised individual to join the team. Candidates will have the opportunity to contribute significantly in the early stages of exhibition planning and to assist the team in the sales of artworks.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily operations of the gallery (answer phone calls, greet visitors)
- Maintain gallery website and various social media platforms
- Assist in the preparation of exhibition/art fair materials, including research, invitation/catalogue designs and translation of written material
- Provide support at gallery openings, events or art fairs
- Provide post-sales assistance

Requirements:
- University student or University graduate
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
- Proficiency in Photoshop or Illustrator preferred
- 2-3 working days per week and may be required to work on Saturdays occasionally
- Immediate availability preferred

Working Hours:
- 11:00 am to 6:30 pm
- Helping out at openings once a month in the evening

Full-time Gallery Assistant- Lucie Chang Fine Arts

Lucie Chang Fine Arts is a contemporary art gallery that was founded in 2014. We are now hiring full-time Gallery Assistant to join the team!

 Responsibilities:
- Managing and running day-to-day business of the art space
- Planning and implementation of exhibitions and fairs
- Coordinating with external parties such as press, artists, organizations, service providers on exhibitions, fairs, and events
- Preparing promotional materials and managing all social media platforms
- Stock checking, liaising with insurance and transportation
- Managing artwork database and filing system
- Dealing with correspondence and emails, and other daily administrative duties
- Other duties as required

Requirements:
- University degree, preferably in the Design, Marketing, Art or related field
- Minimum of 2-3 years full-time working experience, preferably in media, marketing, design or related field
-Good command of written and spoken Cantonese & English & Mandarin.

-Project-oriented skills: must be able to multitask on both short and long-term projects
- Proficient in MS Office, good knowledge of using design software is preferred ( e.g Photoshop, AI, InDesign and etc )
- Proficiency in computer and social media applications eg: Chinese social media platforms including Xiaohongshu, wechat

- Work during weekends and public holidays may be required
- Relevant experience is a plus

Working Hours: 

9:30 am-6:30 pm, 5 days a week

Gallery Intern (Full-time/Part-time) - Tang Contemporary Art

Tang Contemporary Art Wong Chuk Hang space is looking for a part-time or full-time intern for the internship period of January to March 2024, subject to availability.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in day-to-day operations - including sourcing materials and supporting all departments and team members in Hong Kong;
- Contribute to exhibition production, with the flexibility to work longer hours on required installation or event days;
- Prepare and review presentation materials required for the gallery and foundation exhibition in detail;
- Be responsible for some reception work;
- Translate work may be applicable.

Requirements:
- Language: Must be fluent in English & Mandarin (speaking, reading, and writing); Cantonese is a plus;
- Ability to work independently and resourcefully, with efficiency and organization;
- Computer proficiency (Office, basic Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator).

 

This internship provides a rare opportunity to work closely on dynamic exhibitions with artists and team members. The gallery's frequent rotation of exhibitions will provide valuable experience in building professional time-management, multi-tasking, communication and resource skills.
