The Role

At our Hong Kong branch, we are currently expanding our Art department and looking for a passionate and competent Art Handler/Operations Coordinator. You’ll be assisting BDM and Operation Specialists in day-to-day coordination and management of business operational activities, as well as monitor and follow shipment status updates.

You can expect your duties to include the following:

• Responsible for securing and handling fragile items to prepare for shipment.
• Pack (soft-packing and crating) at the best standard for different kinds of artwork.
• Pick-up artworks at galleries, auction houses etc.
• Assist with condition checks
• Perform local deliveries and off-site installations for clients
• After sales process: monitoring and updating the status of the shipments (i.e. pick-up, packing, booking, handling to shipper)
• Liaise between management and our clients to ensure smooth operations delivery
• Liaise with courier companies (i.e. DHL, Fedex) for customs declaration filing process

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant working experience (i.e. Art Handler in a gallery, auction house or within the Art Logistics sector)
• Competence in soft-packing and installing artworks
• Knowledge of the logistics process and customs clearance process in Mainland China, Hong Kong and other countries in Asia Pacific
• Familiarity with sales tax regulations in various countries
• Language: English, Mandarin and Cantonese proficiency (oral and verbal)
• A self-starter with the ability to solve complex problems under tight deadlines and challenging situations
• Capable of operating in a multi-disciplinary environment and collaborating with a large team across international locations
• Strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
